This system is suitable for a measurement of rather high loss materials like electric wave absorbers !!

This is a free-space type measurement system which can measure Dk/Df and magnetic permeability (μ', μ'') simultaniously.
This measurement system can use TRL calibration and LRL calibration, about which many requests we receive, and is suitable for a measurement of high loss materials.
But, due to the nature of millimeter wave band, TRL / LRL calibration and setting samples are very difficult. That's why Keycom doesn't recommend this measurement method. Though we can measure Dk/Df and magnetic permeability at the same time by this Sparameter method (it's advantage of this method), magnetic permeability in high frequency area is very small and it's almost impossible to regard a result as an accurate one for a practical purpose.

In millimeter wave band, as its nature, simple and easy way of setting samples and calibration is very important for measurement.
So Keycom recommends the following measurement methods.

film → Open Resonator Method DPS03
<Magnetic permeability>
flat sheet and film samples → a Magnetic Property Characteristics Measurement System PER01
※Theoretically permeability is calculated, but the value of it as a material characteristic in high frequency area is very small,
so when you need to use a data of permeability for a practical purpose, then please try to use a Magnetic Property Characteristics Measurement System PER01 which can measure permeability alone to the extent of 30GHz.
